Hello! So I've been on here for a week now but hadn't yet come in to introduce myself. I've been an avid cat lover all my life.

I got my first cat when I was 10 and he is featured in my sig (Clover - still healthy at 12 years but to old to move around with me so he leads a happy life with my dad), I still think of him as my baby though.

My fiance's cat is Autumn, shes a sweetie we rescued from the horse barn I ride at. All the other cats hated her and she had abscesed fang marks on her head. She's 2 years old and loving the indoor life. She's now a happy part of the family!

This summer I got my 2 kittens. Meeka, my bengal, I got because we thought she was a boy (Meko). The breeder was a little disapointed because she displayed all the qualities you want in an early generation bengal (she is an F3 bengal, meaning her great-grandfather was the Asian Leopard Cat). However, males are infertile so she wouldn't have been able to be bred. Later we found out she was a girl and my breeder suggested that with my STRONG interest in breeding that she would work wtih me to help me get started. I jumped on that idea! I knew I would be breeding someday but its like things just worked out perfectly. I regesteredy my catter with TICA and joined a breeders association (TIBBA) to learn everything I can before my girl is ready for breeding (she is currently 7.5 months old).
Solarity Bengals
The name comes from things going on in my life. I am a huge fan of astronomy so I was playing around with the word "solar." Then I'm about to get married so the word "unity" has been in the air, so "solarity" came together.

My other girl Hope is a silver Savannah. Since Savannah's are still early in development often times bengals are used as outcrosses (which I think defeats the point of the Savannah but it wasn't my choice). So her father is actually a silver bengal, hence her coloring. She is an F4 meaning her great-great-grandfather is a Serval and she has Asian Leopard Cat on her fathers side, though not much. Anyway Savannah's are expensive so I wouldn't have purchased one except while my breeder was out of town I offered to help out and take one of the mom's and litter. She chose this litter because this little deformed kitten needed extra care. This little girl was flat-chested and not expected to live, just half the size of her siblings...poor thing it really did look hopeless. But what a fighter! I of course fell in love with her and offered to take her, which our breeder was more than willing to give her to us. We are very happy to have this wonderful girl in our family. She grew out of the deformity (you would never know to this day). The only sign left looks like a small neuroligical disorder which has shown up as a couple seizures and eye twitches but it is so infrequent we think this might also clear up. She is currently 7 months old.

I love this site! I read everything I can get my hands on related to cats. I have quite the cat library at home. I'm also very interested in feline behavior/psychology. I grew up wanting to be a vet but decided I liked the cats but not always the nitty gritty details in biology (though I've had coursework in genetics and find teh subject fascinating). So I pursued a degree in Computer Science. I currently work at GlaxoSmithKline as a Data Exploration Scientist and really enjoy my job. Instead of getting into the proffesion of vetting, I'm choosing breeding and very happy with my choice! My original home is NH but I've been moving my whole life. I just completed my 13th move and hope to stay in the traingle area of NC. I also spent some time out in MT and CO when I was younger (lots of family there too).

Thanks everyone!

My fiance does like the kitties but Autumn is his baby. He gets a kick out of the kitten's antics.
