neuter and recovering from uri???

I need to have my kitty neutered and I had a question: He is about 5 months old and he had a mild eye infection about 2 weeks ago and has since been sneezing a couple times a day ( he is currently on clavamox but not for much longer) my question is, is it ok to neuter him even if he is still sneezing???? He is fine otherwise, eating, playing etc... I am just a worrywart when it comes to these things. Anyone else gone through this? Anyone have any advice for me? It would be greatly appreciated. Thanx!!!!

This is something you should run by your Vet befoer making a neuter appointment.

I agree with Helen.. I think it's very important to discuss kitty's symptoms and any of your concerns with the vet prior to making the appointment. This way you and your vet make the decision together.

I just made an appointment with the vet for fri ( he will be off the meds then) to do a check-up and make sure everything is ok. Then we will discuss the nueter and an appropriate date time etc... I was trying to schedule the surgery in between these BIG projects at work, one tommorow and one coming up in dec so that I can take off and watch my baby But the vet said they will not operate if the kitty is sick so we will see what he says on fri. He was never diagnosed with an URI btw but he came from a foster home and one of their cats had one so I just assumed this is what Murphy had with an eye infection and sneezing ( he is still sneezing BTW) How long will he sneeze???? Like I said before he is almost off his clavamox and he is still sneezing anyone experienced this???
