I have a new kitten that is 3 months old. At the vet they gave her a catnip toy. since then her eyes have been really watery and goopy. could she be allergic to catnip, or is she too young to play with it?

Have you had the kitten for very long? She may be showing symptoms of a uri and the symptoms just happened to coincide with getting the new toy. Has she been sneezing? (I noticed your username)

I'm really not sure if catnip can cause this in cats. I have never heard of it doing this. How long ago was you kitten at the vets? Is she up to date on shots? Usually goopy runny eyes are a sign of a Upper Respitory infection. How is she besides the eyes? Any sneezing.? Is she eating the same activity level the same? I would call your vets and see what he thinks. Sounds like she might need to go on antibiotics.
Young kittens can get really ill and go down hill fast. so please call your vet..

my kitten was at the vet on wednesday and he said everything looked good. every once in a while she sneezes, but not regularly. she is eating good, and drinking a lot of water. she is very active, just like a kitten should be!

Watch for the 3rd eyelid to appear (you`d see it showing at the inside corners of her eyes.) If you even see a little bit showing, or she starts sneezing, not wanting to eat or drink much, gets diareah or wants to sleep a lot...GET HER TO THE VET RIGHT AWAY...especially if she is still a kitten. If it is an URI it is very treatable...but don`t let a kitten go too long. They are so small that they can dehydrate fast.
