Hi everyone. I need a little advice. I have a 6mo old kitten and I have had her for about 3 weeks. When I first got her, she was very sick, so at night I have kept her in the laundry room. Well now she is better and I want her to have the whole house at night and not have to be stuck in the laundry room. Of course being a very overprotective mom, I want to make sure that she is safe at night. Does anyone have any suggestions or advice for me? This will be her first night out and I'm nervous!

Sorry, I have no advice, but I sure do sympathize. I remember being so scared the first night Clinton had run of the house. I don't think I slept a wink that night, constantly listening to see what he was up to. And even now (he's 8mo.) I think he's made me a lighter sleeper, like I always feel like I need to keep one ear on him!

sleep tight!

Your kitty will be better off sleeping with you. I would get a baby gate and put it up in your doorway vertically not horizontally (the door of your bedroom) and just let her sleep in your room from now on. You can also provide a nice warm cat bed for her by taking a cardboard box, adding soft bedding and even putting a pet heating pad under the padding to keep it warm.

I keep my two in my bedroom with me at night. It's just better off that way. They have a cat condo in my room as well as food, water and a cat box. Plus plenty of tall furniture to jump up on so they can leap onto the bed in the middle of the night and wake us up.lol.
