Hi all.... some of you may remember a while ago I posted about Monty my Cornish Rex having serious intestine trouble. Well, we thought he was all fixed and going great - its been quite a while now since it happened. But the other day I noticed his fur was thinning again on his back (he has always had a thin patch there... but now its seems to be spreading, I went to take a look as last time they said it was a flea allergy - but its not the same... he is losing fur on his legs now too
When I noticed this last night I checked him over and removed his collar as his fur on his neck is disappearing too.... I took a closer look at his skin and found that it is cracking and sore.... his veins are really bright red and easily seen through the skin.... Im just sooooo worried now that its a repeat of last time (in which case the Vet thinks theres not much hope as they can't perform the surgery again
) But then again I never noticed such skin disorder before.... other then the fur loss and skin cracking... he seesm to be fine, he is his usual self, still eating as usual and drinking plenty... no change in his behaviour and no change in toileting, I just don't know what is wrong!! I have him booked in to the vets first thing tomorrow morning...Does anyone have any idea what it could be???? Someone suggested it could be the Mange?!?!?!?!?!? But if it is - where would he have gotton it from???? Im so worried... if anyone has any ideas please let me know ASAP.. thanks everyone...

It could be a few things. There's a whole range of problems that can effect the skin. Most of the time with cats it's some sort of allergy weather it's a food allergy, contact allergy or inhaled allergy. Most skin problems can be diagnosed and treated fairly easy. If it is some sort of mite it would have been brought in by another cat. Make sure and let us know what your vet says.
