Mouth Sores

I noticed that my cats have had acne on their chins quite a bit. The vet says it's nothing to worry about, but just the yesterday, I noticed one of the cats has three or four sores (ulcers) in her mouth covering her gums and lips. Any ideas what could be causing them? They currently eat a dry only diet of Iams Multi-Cat Formula.

could be viral. I know mt moms cat was diagnosed with the cat version of herpes.

Sounds like herpes to me also. Thats one of the symptoms of it.Let us know what you find out.Usually they also have runny eyes with it but not always.

One of mine got sores round her mouth and the vet said she was allergic to the plastic her dish was made of. We changed to stainless steel dishes and have had no more trouble.
