I want to slipcover my ugly old hand-me down furniture since I can't afford to buy new furniture right now and I was astounded by how expensive slipcovers are!! I was guessing forty dollars or so per couch, but they run more like eighty to one hundred dollars each!! I found some cheaper on ebay, but it seems to be hard to find two that match styles and colors! I was wondering if anyone knows of anywhere I can find cheap slipcovers or where I can learn to make my own? If you've made slipcovers, any advice would be very much appriciated!!

Movin' on up!
I bought a sofa-sized denim slipcover at Target and paid about $80 for it. That's cheaper than new upholstery or a new couch.

Look on ebay, I have bought a couple of really nice ones on there for about 20 dollars each. They are new SureFit slipcovers.

I bought some great ones on overstock.com. The best part was I was shopping in Bed Bath and Beyond a week later and found the same exact ones for double the price I paid!!

Which type of SureFit did you get? Are they the washable ones? Did they seem to fit well? And are your cats leaving them alone?

I got a whole set (sofa, loveseat, chair) of surefit for $80 CAD.

We have washed ours a few times (they actually fit a little better now they shrunk!) but we had to take them to the laundromat because they didn't fit well in a one loader. They are made big so they fit all sofas etc but they show you where to tuck to get a neat fit.
