Is he neutered? If not, then that could help deture him from wanting outside.If he is, then just keep an eye on the door and make sure he don't get out.
I have 4 kids and have to make sure they don't let Blaze out.She was spayed on Monday and doesn't even really pay attention to the door now.

Throw tasty treats into the house everytime you leave. That way he will go after the treat instead of going for the door.
