Well I can't think of anything my friends don't already I know I listen too. They know I love bad music.

That being said, a few years ago I was going to a concert of an act that I wouldn't admit to my family. Insane Clown Possee...my friends were going with me though. It wasn't a very good show. But I still bust out the CDs on occassion.

I'm embarassed to admit that I like....

No Doubt. Before Gwen went, as lionessrampant said about Lizz Phair, "all vapid pop star diva". lol
And Dave Matthews. I have to admit that I really like their earlier stuff. Don't much care for the latest CD, though.

Whew....
That was tough. I need to go listen to some Mason to make up for that....
lol

Yeah, I find it a little hard to admit to Dave, but whatever. Under the Table and Dreaming and Before these Crowded Streets were good albums, regardless of how frat-boy it is to like Dave. Whatever. Good music is good music.

Really?! I had no idea I was supposed to be embarrased about liking Dave Matthews!
I do know I should be ashamed to admit how thrilled I was when Duran Duran made a comeback.....

OMG I used to listen to them all the time. And my family knew it, but were horribly embarassed! I saw a couple shows and met them at a CD signing when I was in NYC. I thought the shows were really good though, got a concussion at one of them (a sure sign of a good show). They helped me get through a really rough time in my teen years, but I don't listen to the music anymore. A *few* too many swears for a set of young ears!

Anyway as far as I am concerned, lets see am embarrased to like a bit of numetal crap.
As such my staple diet is 80s thrash metal like slayer, exodus, forbidden, megadeth, Death Angel, Sadus, Kreator and stuff like that. Nothing to be embarrased, i like to be oldschool!!
I
Simon & Garfunkel!!!

I'm kind of embarassed that I mostly like older music now. I used to keep up with recent stuff but not anymore.

my "recent" music is at least 4-5 years old (older Radiohead stuff, Bjork, Massive Attack, Rage Against the Machine...) and now I am getting more an more into old stuff - Micheal Jackson (and other 80s stuff), Beatles, Gordon Lightfoot, Pink Floyd...
I'm also listening to more classical music (espeicially Glenn Gould) and some Jazz.

I don't know much about recent music and I don't really care that much. Still, it makes me feel old to see my tastes in music change like that.

Like Grampa Simpsons said: "I used to be "with it" but then they changed what "it" was. Now what I'm with isn't "it" and what is "it" seems strange and confusing."

Not to mention Eminem, Sean Paul, Kanye West, Beyonce... what can I say, alternative girls can love R&B and rap too I guess.
I love all the bling in the videos.

Yeah me too. Good music stays good throughout the years. I don't care if it's old now, I'm not a teenager so why should I care about being trendy? I find there's just not a lot of new music that really speaks to me, y'know? I suspect that's because my life right now is pretty boring, and therefore doesn't need a soundtrack.
There are some contempary artists appealing to a non-teenybop fanbase though I guess what sells most these days is the mindless pop and the bling-bling hip hop stuff. Have you ever watched Bravo videos? There's some different stuff on there (even French Canadian, gasp!).

I with you here too Chris.
I like Ashlee, and Jessica too.
I listen to such a wide range of music. We were just laughing about my Ipod the other day. A few for example: Marilyn Manson, the Dixie Chicks, Genesis, Jessica Simpson, GNR, Blink 182... and the list goes on, including the Backstreet Boys
Of course some of what I listen too isn't the "coolest" on the charts right now, but I don't really care.
