Last night at my church women's circle, the hostess's Maine Coon mix wandered out into the living room and headed straight for me! LOL I cuddled her half to death.

I did notice she was front paw declawed.
But other than that she was a beautiful healthy baby and I was smitten at once.

Then I got home to my three, and the jig was up. LOL They all sniffed suspiciously at my feet and gave me the "And just where the hell have YOU been?" routine.

That's interesting. Mine don't seem to give two hoots who I talk to away from home, as long as I don't bring them home with me.
They'll sometimes have a sniff, but it's clearly just curiosity.

I just love Maine Coons!

I can't prove it but I am pretty sure Chuckie is part Maine Coon, he is so big and sweet just as I read are traits of the breed. I would love to get a full Maine Coon!

I've gone through that routine before, with Joey! JC just gives a few sniffs, then asks for a reassuring cuddle. Joey, on the other, can go so far as to sniff, look around, and hiss & growl!

AHHH, I love Maine Coons (I think, I've only checked out the websites, haven't seen one in real life) and I love cuddly, fluffy big cats...oh, heck, I love ANY cat, but, ooohh, running my fingers through that thick, silky furrr & up the little ear-tips of fur! you were a lucky lady to get to pet such a gorgeous cat!

I want one too! They're so big and cuddly, I'd just love it all up. When I come home from dog walking, I always let my boys sniff my gloves. They were interested at first, but now they just give a quick sniff and walk away.

I had a maine coon cat when I was a teenager....and my parents still have him now....they have such unique personalities.

For example,

They will get attached to one person, usually a mother figure and they will follow that person around and love that person to death.

They also make interesting churrping (spelling) sounds and a sound like hmmmmm....when they jump.

LOL....and the one my parents have is a real scardy cat...he is afraid of rolly pollies!!! lol

I would get another one, but they are expensive if you get them from a store you have to be lucky to find one at a shelter.
