Just wondering how many people print their pictures at home and what kind of printer and digital camera you have.

I beta tested 2 different HP Photosmart All In One printers this summer and the second one has just made it out onto the market-- I love them both. The one i have at home can print out a absolutely gorgoues photo center quality print in 14 seconds. The quality is amazing. My SIL who works in a photo shop swears that my printer at home CANNOT be printing these pictures. Frameable and in any size i want. The one i have at home is a HP Photosmart AIO 3210. The one at hubbys work is a HP Photosmart 2575 AIO. I like my 3210 a bit better than the 2575. I just got my new digital camera ( early christmas present) Kodak Easy Share Z700 high zoom and am still learning on it. I also have a HP Photosmart 320/315 and HP Photosmart 215. I dont use plan on using the HP cameras much anymore since i have a newer better picture quality camera now but even with the HP 215 camera i got some great pics from it too. I also have a Panasonic Digital Camcorder that i use for holidays when taking video and stills at the same time.

So what do you have?
also, what software do you use for digital imaging/editing? I am using Microsoft Digital Imaging Suite 10, Macromedia Suite, and Adobe Photoshop.

Nothing fancy here, but it suits my needs. My camera is HP Photosmart 735 I think (I also have a 318, which needs the battery door repaired). My printer is the Canon i850, which I bought refurbished almost 2 years ago, and has been sweet! I don't print a lot of photos, but I love to be able to just do it, and the quality is very satisfactory.

For editing, again nothing fancy. I have a few things, that I use singly or in combination depending on what I want to accomplish: ACDSee (one of the early versions) is great for the basic cropping and resizing stuff, and some colour adjustment, and is what I use most; but I'm getting accustomed to Picasa, and finding it useful for other stuff, especially redeye correction; if I want to manipulate images more than that, there's PhotoPlus, which I've used for layering and adding text; I also have Irfanview, and have fired it up from time to time when looking for another way to accomplish....whatever...but haven't really gotten into it much.

My grandparents have a printer for just their digital camera and its really awesome...too bad I dont remember what kind it is tho! I really would love to have one at home, it prints out amazing pictures.

For me anyways, I just go to Wal-Mart and print them out there
1 hour photo works wonders for me, especially for only .19 cents per photo

Someday I will get myself a little printer for home like that, hopefully for Christmas when I get my home computer from my family, woo hoo!!

I hardly ever actually print out photos
but on the occasions when I do, my Epson Stylus C86 (as long as you use Epson paper) does a brilliant job.

I rarely print them out. I have a Samsung Digimax A6 (6 megapixels, with a zoom), and a Fujipix something or other (2 or 3 megapixels; it's upstairs, and if I go check, I'll probably wake up hubby), and my color printer is a Lexmark Z35. Most of my photos aren't worth printing, but at least I now manage to get the subject in the frame. I have a slew of photo software, but usually use PhotoStudio 5 (I don't remember where I got that) and Irfanview for resizing.

It depends what you want to use it for, i have an epson stylist 2200, it prints up to 1200 dpi, the pictures print up looking extremely well. The camera that i use Olympus C-50 5 megapixel, it works good but i want something alittle bit more professional than that. i have the Adobe CS suite, i would recommend that over anything else. The epson printers are made just for that, printing. the only thing i can say about my printer is that it uses 7 different ink cartridges and costs about 100 dollars to get all of the ink.

wow thats pricey for ink-- my printer has 6 cartiridges ( 5 color and 1 black)and to replace them all costs about 65 bucks. thats for the large sized cartridges. I just replaced my original black ink cartridge (small size) with a large sized one-- got over 2000 pages printed & copied both documents and pictures with no fading or anything, and that cartridge was installed when i got the printer in the mail back June 26th. I hope to get double that at least out of the large cartridge. We shalll see. My printer inks are the new Vivera inks that are not supposed to fade or anything.

All the printer is for is printing pictures, so the ink is different. You can buy epson printers with cheaper ink but i wanted a certain type for doing graphics and at home stuff. the ink colors are black, light black, cyan, light cyan, magenta, light magenta, yellow, light yellow. the printer can also print all the way to the edge of a page so the ink has to dry fast. you can save money if you buy a printer that is not just for printing picture but the ink doesnt have as many colors it can make, or the capibilitys.

I have a HP PSC 1350 all in one and with a photo cartridge it prints good photos although I tend to have the enlarged type done at the Machine in Walmart. I also have a Canon Selphy Photo Printer (DS700) and it does great photos (although only 4x6). I find the colour from this is much better than the machine in walmart and so far haven't noticed any fading.

I USED to print out my own pictures but with the cost of ink and paper it's cheaper to have them printed online at Ofoto and have them ship them to me. Still if I am in a hurry on a rare occasion I might print out one or two.
