The cat, the walls, and doors

My cat is always jumping up our doors and walls. I heard the other day that a cats behavior can change after getting declawed he has been declawed for some now almost 3 years and has started this about 4 months ago. I don't know what to do with him. Does anyone have an idea why he is doing this.

I don`t know if declawing would have anything to do with it or not, as i`ve never had a declawed cat.....but it seems odd that he would start just a few months ago if he has been declawed for 3 years.
I did have a friend who once took in a declawed cat though....and he would run, jump and "BOUNCE" off the walls every morning as part of his exercise routine....but he did that right from the beginning.
I guess, if you are concerned, since it`s a sudden change in behavior, I`d ask his vet for his input.

I have a cat that's NOT declawed and she does this. She's been doing it for several months, but didn't do it before that. I have no idea why. But she's a calico, so she's a little goofy, anyway.

I've noticed that cats go through "phases" -- maybe this is something that our cats will get tired of and stop doing after a while.

Doesn't seem like it would have anything to do with declawing. Is there some sort of bug or shiny object or light that might be casting a moving shadow on your walls? Seems very much like the behavior when a kitty is seeing things on the walls and ceiling and trying to catch them!
