This will be long, but funny!!!

So yesterday a heel on my shoe broke, so on my lunch break I ran home to switch shoes. I came home and nobody was greeting me. I though that they were taking their afternoon nap. I went to the bedroom, to the bathroom, to the living room and to the kitchen. My furbabies were nowhere to be found. The only thing that gets them to where I want them is banging their plates on the kitchen floor. So I started banging. One of the kitchen cabinets open and two sleepy faces come out. I thought it was so funny.
I come home after work and the first thing I do is feed my fur babies. So I put their plates down and they are not excited about food whatsoever. I was so worried that they go sick. I told my hubby lets go to the vet. But he calmed me down said that nothing could be wrong with them. We went to bed. The whole night they were banging with the door to the cabinet that they were sleeping in earlier. In the morning I put the plates down and they are not eating again. I was so scared I can't even describe. So I went to the cabinet where they were sleeping to get a gallon of water and what do I see. They opened a box with dry food and ate the whole box in one day. I was so relieved and I started laughing. It's been 6 hours already and I can't stop laughing. I was worried for no reason.

Actually I left it in the same cabinet (not enough room to store stuff) but I put it in a plastic canister. Let's see how well they'll do chewing through plastic.

When Bast was teething, she chewed through the little strap on my Nalgene that holds the lid on to the bottle, so don't think they can't/won't chew through the plastic.

This is a funny update on the story.

After my two geniuses ripped the paper bag with dry food apart I put all the food into a plastic container that has a twist of cap. Came home yesterday and noticed that the cats were drinking a lot (always happens when they eat dry food). Opened the cabinet and the twist of cap was taken off. I don't know how. My hubby said that he cannot imagine how they would do that but they did.

What a day! Maybe you could go buy one of those Christmas tins of popcorn. They have them everywhere this time of year, and they make good cat food containers. And they have cute pics on them. I haven't had a house cat get into one yet, although the one in the pole barn got opened. I think it was raccoons, though, because I do not see how kitties could open those cans!
