Okay, it's 2010 and the instructions on this thread don't seem to jive with what I see on the screen.

now what?

It's still an option on photobucket. You can also add it to your link options so that you get thumbnail code along with html, direct, and IMG.

Okay - will give it a shot
I see all the codes under the pics - and have used them, but haven't found the "thumbnail code" - will keep looking. Thanks for your interest.

Below those codes there's a tiny link that says "Link Options". Clinking it will give you the option to add more types of links, remove ones you don't use, and set it to always there or to show on mouseover.

or you can click the checkmarks on each pic and click generate HTML at the bottom of the page and it takes you to a page with all of the options, if you don't want to view it every time you load the page

^My photobucket doesn't show the boxes next to the pictures that you can check, anymore.
I figured theirs doesn't have it, either, and that could be causing confusion.

Ah HA!! found that little bugger - tricky, tricky - my photos didn't show the links until I ran the mouse over the picture - then I had to save the preferences to get the links to stay showing under the picture ... I love changes that websites make - but then, can't complain for the great stuff I get free
I'll try to do something with this tomorrow - I think my brain just quit -- I'll post here again if I have another issue with photobucket - thanks, again for your help!

Well! These certainly didn't come out as thumbnails. I did the IMG code, which is what I thought I was supposed to do. Hmmm. Since I am very UNtechnical, and since things have changed since 2005 when these were written, can someone write out the new instructions for those of us who are challenged? Thanks!!!!!

No the image code is the regular code, you need to check the box for the picture, scroll to the bottom and click 'generate HTML and IMG code' and choose the thumbnail option IMG clickable thumbnails for message boards - recommended

OR

mouse over a picture and instead of clicking on the checkbox or a code line, choose link options and check Clickable thumbnail under IMG for bulletin boards & forums

and that code will show each time

I guess I'm a complete ditz or something, but I am in Photobucket in a separate window, and I do not find anything close to what you are talking about at all! There are no boxes to check next to any of my pictures, and when I scroll the mouse over the pictures, nothing happens. I wonder if I need to be viewing my pictures on a different screen in Photobucket for this to be happening. I am at my Home Page where I can see all my pix.

Your photobucket should look something like this

or if you have option checked to always show links

If you don't, hold the mouse cursor over the picture to get the menu

and you can click on link options to show thumbnails always

or if you want it occasionally, check the box below the pic and scroll down to the bottom and click this button

Woohoo!!

Now if I could just figure out how to post these on My Cat pages, I would be very happy. I try every day, and every day I get reject messages. I guess it's just the luck of the draw as to whose pictures are accepted or not!!

Yeah luck of the draw. I'm starting to wonder about that too- Also wondering if maybe newer computers are helpful because I notice new members have fortunately been able to get the "Your Cats" section to work smoothly - and thats great but it just makes me wonder

For those using thumbnails, and those who look at this thread in the future, if using photobucket remove the "?action=view&current= " from your link before using it. That will make the clickable thumbnail lead straight to the picture instead of your photobucket.

Hmmm, maybe I'll try loading "my cats" pictures from my brand new laptop! Wish me luck.

There are a number of threads about the trouble we're having with the cat pages in the FAQ section:
http://www.thecatsite.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=215241
http://www.thecatsite.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=151148

The problem with uploading pictures still hasn't been resolved.

That's a good tip, but that isn't in my link. Hmmm. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v194/jcatpics/Jamie/STA60182.jpg
