I have heard alot about "raw diets" but I am having touble finding a site that will actually tell me HOW to prepare something like this... can anyone help. I would like to find out more about the benefits of this type of diet. Looking at the cat food bag scares me. I try not to eat anything I can't pronounce and i feel guilty that the babies had to eat all this "other" stuff. I honestly felt like there were no other options except canned and dry till a few days ago . I want to do everything I can so that they live long happy healthy lives.

I do a raw food diet with my 3 babies. I would highly recommend joining a user group on the subject. We have new people start a raw diet almost every week and the whole list is available to help you get through the transition. They are all willing to help and answer questions for you. Also you can browse through the archives for a wealth of information/experiences from people.

Making your own is good, if you have the time and patience. A good resource book for making your own and general holistic health care for your cats is:
Dr. Pitcairn's complete guide to natural health for Dogs & Cats
Should be available at most major book stores and online. I got a used copy on Ebay for a few bucks.

If you don't feel like making your own, here are links to 2 companies. I use the Bravo company and recommend them.

Bravo! Raw Diet
