as when you tear your fingernail down to the quick?
I did that today to my thumb. Of course my right thumb that is used to hit the space key after every....single....word. *ouch* And of course it is on the left side of my thumb that I use to hit the spacebar.

OK, I know that there are a lot of things that actually DO hurt more than this, but it doesn't matter right now. My thumb feels like it's the size of a baseball (it's not!), and it HURTS! OWIE OWIE OWIE!

I have alway's said if it's on your body and you say it hurts worse then anything you ever had, no one should say that it doesn't
What matters is that you think it does
Hope it feels better soon

Holy crap that hurts! I feel for ya, Heidi!

Now just go stub your toe, hit your funny bone, get a really deep paper cut and a splinter have a cat climb you and get a couple canker sores and you're all set for overwhelming yet routine pain!

Thanks guys!

I know all I have to do is turn my ankle (that I severely sprained in JULY, but is still very tender) and I'll forget about my thumb for that moment.
It's just typing that actually hurts....so where am I?? On TCS posting away!
The things I do to feed this addiction!

Ouch I sure can relate. I cut myself on my thumb pretty deep on halloween carving my pumpkins!!! I thought I was going to have to go get a few stitches. but I applied pressure for awhile and finally got the bleeding to stop. Its still terrible sore. At least I got out of doing the dishes for awhile

oh I feel your pain Heidi. You know what else hurts soo badly???

When you stub your little toe!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I did that just yesterday and I had to cover Gabe's ears and let out a stream of expletives! Ones that shocked my dad.
And I could barely walk the rest of the evening, but its okay now. I reckon the little toe must be the strongest bone in the body - no matter how many times or how hard I have stubbed it, it never seems to break!

Heehee
. I just had to laugh -- my kind of humour.
But seriously, healing thumb vibes on their way to you, Heidi.
And in the meantime, bandage it up with loads of Band Aids and you'll be good to go.

Hopefully your thumb feels better today. I would keep a bandaid on for a day orr two to protect that tender skin. I banged my head almost a week ago and that spot is still tender (I just checked!!) so I share your pain.

Movin' on up!
BREAK your little toe and then have a large dog step on it, every time you get near. That will make you forget the thumb. (I have experience, with this)

Well, I must admit that hurts, but try not being patient enough to wait until something thaws out, and using a VERY sharp knife to cut off some parts of it, and slice your finger instead.

(So sorry for laughing!)...I do know that must hurt terribly, There are a lot of nerves in your fingers....for the very reason to help us keep our hands out of too much trouble, as we need them so much!
