This is still a big if, but I'm kind of preparing for the inevitable. I may soon be reintroducing my guy, Peter, to his sister, Claire, if she ends up staying with us. They were the last two from their littler of seven to be adopted and were together for a long time. Their last contact was six months ago, when I fostered Claire for a couple of weeks. At the time, they got along just fine, played, groomed each other, etc...

I'm wondering if they'll remember each other after all this time? If I keep Claire, we'll go through the usual, gradual introductions, but I am curious to see how she and Pete will react to each other. Any thoughts? Thanks!

I would say don't count on them remembering each other and just play it by ear. You may well have to go through the gradual introduction.

It depends on how long they were living together before they got separated. There will almost certainly be a rough period of re-introduction, but I have found that cats who knew each other in the past get used to each other faster than if they had never met before. There may be some memory buried in their subconscious.
