Well, our luck with the aquarium has not been too great lately. First, we lost Fang (our blood red fire shrimp) about 3 weeks ago.
Then, sometime last night or this morning, Sushi, our mandarin dragonet, died. We think he ran out of copepods (tiny microorganisms that live in the live rock) to eat.
This was upsetting as he was my favorite fish.

RIP Sushi
.

Thanks y'all
.
Yeah Susan, the tank is not a happy one these days
. We need to do some water testing once we get back from vacation. We've put in the order for our 2 seahorses and were planning on picking them up once we get back from vacation, but I think we need to make sure the water is safe before adding them.
After adding seahorses, I know I'll get so attached that losing one will be devastating!

I'm sorry, Amy. Welcome to the world of salt water fish. It's an expensive hobby.

. Chris, you're right- it's unbelieveably expensive. I guess I'd rather lose a $20 mandarin dragonet than a $100 panther grouper....though it's all sad nonetheless.

Condolences on losing a beautiful fish! I've never had much luck with fish, but my brother & sis are good with them, and I'm amazed at how they can recognize their owners & how they can be playful, etc. It reminds me of the lines of the hymn that says, "All Creatures great & small, all things wise & wonderful, the Lord God made them all". I hope that all goes well with the seahorses!
