Can I please get some opinions on this dry kibble food?

We feed raw, but I always give our kittens 50% dry kibble, because many new owners won't/can't feed raw and the kittens need to be used to the food they will be fed at their new homes.

I just purchased 4 bags of the Wysong Vitality to give it a try. It's a big hit taste-wise with the kittens.

Has anyone used this long term and have comments??

Any comments on other Wysong products, good or bad?

i found this on the internet:

Dramatic Results in Puppies and Kittens

Internet: A month and a half ago I adopted a kitten from a friend who was going to put him in the humane society. He was thin, his fur was rough, and he didn't play. I immediately put him on Wysong Nuture and Wysong canned. He has so much energy - I love it. His fur is like silk, and he is very alert. He is not thin, he is healthy looking. I didn't realize he had changed that much, until my friend brought his sister over, I almost cried. His sister is half his size, very thin and lethargic. Her fur is rough. She didn't play, she hid. I tried to tell her owner to put her on Wysong, but to no avail. All I can say is thank you for this great food.

California: "My roommate and I swear by your dry cat formulas. About two months ago we adopted 2 kittens that were born wild on the levee near us. We feed them Wysong plus homemade foods. They are the ultimate picture of health. Their coats donâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]t just shine, they glisten!"

Washington: "Ever since my cat was a kitten she has been a ‘Wysong Cat.â€[emoji]8482[/emoji] My cat is still a Wysong Cat and always will be. Her veterinarian claims that the balanced nutrition of Wysong helped her become a healthy cat from the thinsickly kitten she was when I first got her. I know heâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]s right."

Internet: "I had to write to tell you about how your Wysong feline food has helped our kitten. Oscar was found in the woods with the rest of his littermates already dead. He was tiny, and a real fighter, and it was love at first sight for me. Unfortunately, we have found out that he had severe malnutrition and parasites internally, and they suspect a genetic disorder in which his body is not developing properly. Well he has gained 5 ounces and is active and talkative and I think it has to do with your wonderful food. He is eating it and loving it, and I cannot thank the makers of Wysong enough. It is really a testament to what the right food can do. We may not see Oscar live a long life, but the life he will have has been greatly improved by Wysong food. Thank you!"

this is just some go here for more: http://www.wysong.net/testimonials.shtml

I like there all meat canned ... not a fan of the dry I have seen in stores ... Have you seen Prairie dry??? it is natural something ( I will find it ) or innovas evo/??

You may have to feed for a bit if they really like it ( regrets ever giving dry to younger c at)

For those wondering what's in it, here is the ingredients list, from their website, Vitality: "Chicken, Chicken Giblets, Poultry Fat (preserved with mixed Tocopherols as a source of vitamin E), Ground Wheat, Ground Brown Rice, Ground Corn, Ground Oat Groats, Fish Oil, Salt, DL-Methionine, Taurine, Eggs, Plums, Dried Wheat Grass Powder, Dried Barley Grass Powder, Whey, Dried Yogurt, Lecithin, Citric Acid, Natural Extractives of Sage, Natural Extractives of Rosemary, Dried Kelp, Garlic, Black Pepper, Artichoke, Dried Bacillus subtilis Fermentation Product, Dried Enterococcus faecium Fermentation Product, Dried Lactobacillus acidophilus Fermentation Product, Dried Lactobacillus casei Fermentation Product, Dried Lactobacillus lactis Fermentation Product, Dried Saccharomyces cerevisiae Fermentation Product, Dried Aspergillus niger Fermentation Product, Dried Aspergillus oryzae Fermentation Product, Ascorbic Acid, Zinc Proteinate, Iron Proteinate, Vitamin E Supplement, Niacin Supplement, Manganese Proteinate, Calcium Pantothenate, Thiamine Mononitrate, Copper Proteinate, Pyridoxine Hydrochloride, Riboflavin Supplement, Vitamin A Acetate, Folic Acid, Biotin, Vitamin B12 Supplement, Vitamin D3 Supplement."

highlit in red are the ingredients I'd not choose to feed...why not go with innova evo instead?

I am hesitant about the rosemary and sage extract because the leaves of these two herbs are poisonous to cats...click here to link listing them as poisonous

ps I have used and like Wysong's "Just Meat" canned.

Pat,

Thanks for the info! I use some of the Wysong all meat rabbit occasionally.

I've tried EVO. Seems to be an ok product, but not all our kittens liked it and it gave them pretty loose stools. Tried it for about 4 months, didn't work out very well.

My boss really loves Wysong and wants us to push it more often in the store, but I have very little confidence in their kibble, and have a hard time doing that. There are SO many kibbles out there that I would consider a higher quality. It's good, just not amazing.

And if you're feeding kittens, shouldn't they be on Nurture, not Vitality?

Well no, not in my case. 50 to 75% of their diet is whole ground raw, supplemented with call of the wild.
The vitality makes more sense considering it is only part of their diet, and I am only trying it out anyway.

In my opinion there is no such thing as a good kibble, just varying degrees of lousy. Cats just aren't designed to eat dried up little biscuits. I'm just trying to find something I can recommend to our new kitten owners that I can feel half-ways good about.

You know what...my cats are undergoing a diet shift as Evo didn't end up working for us either...the two that have worked the best for us are Felidae and Nature's Variety Prairie. I also feed 2 meals a day of commercial wet, though, so kibble isn't their main source of energy either and I don't know how it would be different with raw.
