Hi and welcome to TCS.

I'm not sure what it means but if you are worried that she is having a hard time breathing, a vet visit would be a good idea. Be sure to have Momcat spayed after the kittens are weaned.

Best thing to do is have her seen by a vet.

Please keep her indoors for now and until she has had her kittens and has weaned them..then it would be a good time to have her spayed. If you need a low cost spay clinic, just let me know and I can look them up in your area.

thanks i will keep that in mind, what do i do if she gets out cos i've got 2 kids one age 9 and age 12 and sometimes they let her out by accident, will it do her any harm as i'm concerned that she will get hurt do i try to get her in straight away or wait for her to come home wihtout me forcing her cos i don't want to hurt the kittens?

She should not have the opportunity to get out..even accidentally. For one thing...if she gets scared and runs off, she could end up going into labour outdoors....additionally, if she has the kittens and then gets outdoors...she can get pregnant again if she mates while outside. So the best thing to do is to not allow your children to let her out. At 9 and 12 your children are old enough to understand the risks and they should also be very vigilent not to allow her outside. If this is not possible..then you need to contain your cat with her food, water and litter so that she has no access outdoors.

At this stage...her litterbox should be in easy access so that she does not need to travel as far to get to it. Placing her litterbox in the same room with the nesting box should help.
