Recently we discovered that our one pup Vader could not be trusted with the cats. He was getting aggressive with them, as his high prey drive kicked in repeatedly. It was with great sadness that we surrendered him over to the breeder after he attacked me the other day.

Chyna in the meantime is doing great! We thought she would miss her buddy, but he was so aggressive with her as well, it is almost as if she is relieved he is now no longer here.

Here is Chyna with Oliver.Unlike Vader, Chyna has a low prey drive and understands that kitties are off limits as far as chasing and terrorizing them goes

I will miss Vader tremendously, but he needs to go to a home with NO cats or small animals. While he was here, he killed a wild bunny, two squirrels and a mole.

What a great photo MA! Look at Chyna's ears!! They're spectacular!

It's a shame about Vader - Ruby also has a very high prey drive and just constantly runs after the cats, don't know what to do about it, it's quite upsetting. But she's never attacked me or Chester - you must be very sad about that.

Hopefully he'll go to a good one-doggy only home, and he'll calm down a little without all the tempation.

Seriously, though, Chyna is adorable, as is Oliver. What kind of dog is she?

So sorry that Vader wasn't a fit for your family.

That's a sweet photo of Chyna and Oliver.
It's unfortunate about Vader. I hope he does get to a home where there's no other small pets around to tempt him.

That pic ofChyna and Oliver is too sweet, MA!
Sorry to hear about the developments with Vader, though! I hope he'll find a home where he can be himself, without endangering other furries.

Like Vader, Chyna is a German Shepherd (registered) She is a throwback (long-hair) It is amazing how many people think she is an American Eskimo Dog

It's such a shame about Vader. It looks like Chyna has a way to go to grow into those ears. The "Old German Shepherds" here are long-haired, and don't have that odd slope to their lower backs. You still see a fair number of them here, especially since they're not as prone to HD as the more "modern" variety. White Shepherds are quite popular, too, and they're usually referred to as "Canadian(-German) Shepherds", as the original stock was imported from Canada fairly recently (within the last decade; I'm guessing about 5 or 6 years ago). Chyna looks quite comfy with her feline buddy.

And what a sweet picture of her and Oliver!

So sorry to hear about Vader. I know you did what's best not only for you and your crew, but also for him.
