I found poor Paddie in the garden Friday. We had a birthday party for my daughter on Thursday night and I think someone may have inadvertently hit her with a vehicle in the coming and going.

Padma was a lovely little calico kitten from our last feral litter. A fiercely independent little soul. She was like her mother, Kit Kat, and would not allow you to touch her.

The garden was her favorite spot for mousing. She was just lying next to a stack of lumber with her lttle tail curled out behind. She looked so natural and calm, I thought that she was just sitting there, but as I got closer I knew that something was wrong because she would never let get that close.

Thank God for his mercy. She didn't appear to have suffered.

I am so sorry for your loss. Poor little Padma, taken away too soon. I'm glad she had you to watch out for her and love her. Condolences.

Rest in peace, Paddie. You will never feel fear again over the bridge, and when you see your people again, you will understand their love for you.

Thank you all for the understanding. I felt so depressed all weekend.

But Mom revealed that she has been petting Padma's sister, Stormy II, when she is eating with Midnight! This is a great break through because these are die hard feral cats.

I have caught Stormy II twice before but had to let her go because she tried to eat me alive (many scars). I managed to stuff her in the cat carrier once but she just went beserk until I finally let her out because I was afraid that she was going to hurt herself.

Maybe she is lonely now that Padma is gone and Leighia (her other sister) stays inside most of the time. It is just amazing the difference in temperment between Leighia and Stormy II. Leighia is sweet little love bug, but Stormy used to try to amputate fingers.

I am hoping that Stormy will continue to tame down and we can get her to the vet one of these days.
