Will she sill have to wear the cone?

Well Maggie gets her stiches out tonight, does anyone have any clue if she will still have to wear the cone or not?

Probably not, if she leaves the affected area alone.

Highly unlikely, since once the stitches are out the incision is pretty well healed. The only problem could be if she decides to lick the area until the skin is raw, but this is not likely to happen.

My vet has used staples, they stay in better, nothing for the cat to pull at-

Its unlikly she will have to wear the collar. Once the stitches are out they are more likely to leave the area alone. Keep an eye on her for a few days to make sure.

Well the vet said a couple more days of the cone. I did try to take it off & sure enough she just sat there licking away, so I'm going to leave it on until tomorrow or Thrusday & try again.

I personally think it would depend on how much she is licking. Mika never wore the collar and although she did some licking, it wasn't excessive. I know myself when I have a wound healing it can be itchy so maybe she's just "scratching an itch". Same with Bijou and he had no stitches or glue at all. He licked a bit and the vet said only if he seemed to be licking excessively should we have to put a collar on. He didn't and we didn't.
