I had bought a Tae Bo DVD a couple of weeks ago with the intention of starting to work out. I am not really overweight (but I could due to lose those couple of extra pounds
), I basically bought it just to get in shape and tone my body. So finally on Saturday I started Tae Bo. The workout itself seems really good, the first 20 minutes of the 60 is warm up and then on to the harder stuff. Well let me tell you it's a good thing I started with the basics cuz I was sweatin' up a storm by the time I was finished. And yesterday I was sooooooo sore, I could barely get out of bed
no trouble to tell I've never worked out before. My whole body hurt, my legs are still a bit sore today actually
At least this shows me I need to get in shape and that it is a workout for your whole body. I plan on getting back to the workout when my muscles are so sore, I don't want to do any damage.

Does anyone else do Tae Bo? Or has tried it? Did it work or not?

Also, my bf has refused to be in the same room as me when I'm doing Tae Bo. I came so close to kicking him in the head with a round house...
...He left the room pretty fast after that. Oh...and Pepper and Pixie offically think I'm crazy and won't come near me when I'm working out...

Are the moves fun? As for the work-out, you could try some ibuprofen to help the soreness, and also, drink lots of water to help flush out the toxins. I know that if I work out with a good lymph-stimulating exercise, such as jogging, I need to drink extra water or I get soreness in my muscles all over. Also, a good cool-down is a must. Just reading your post makes me want to try exercising, too! In fact, there used to be a "work-out" thread here on TCS, but I don't know what happened to it.

The moves are actually quite fun and not too hard at all...but of course I'm only on the basic workout yet
. You should defintely give it a try!

I am defintely taking your advice on drinking lots of water, I didn't have any when I was working out on Saturday (we were all out of bottled water).

Sounds like fun! I literally LOL when you said about nearly kicking your BF!

*giggle* I couldn't stop laughing either but my darling BF didn't think it was too funny. He scooped up the kits and left the room muttering to them that "Mom is crazy and we all better leave the room before she kicks me and steps on you"...

I just looked into taking a class yesterday. But not having gone to an exercise class in so long, I am worried it will be too much crazy cardio to begin with...Is it easy to keep up with the moves? I also thought of Tae-Lo to begin with (a lower impact Tae Bo workout) but then thought that may be too slow for me...
Would you feel comfortable doing Tae Bo in a class setting if you hadn't done it before (in terms of keeping up) and not making a complete fool of yourself??

I love Tae Bo. Did you get the Billy Blanks one? I think he's really nice and I like doing it more because of him. If it was someone like...that woman who has her own show early in the morning, I wouldn't like doing it.

I've never done it myself but I can see why it would be making your muscles sore!

A good old fashioned Epsom Salt soak will help sore muscles. Some of my clients are Marine Corps atheletes, and they say it works wonders.

I did ge the Billy Blanks DVD, he's the best!
And it's actually not too hard to keep up with the moves, there were a couple I couldn't keep up with but it was my first time doing the workout
. Also, Billy Blanks breaks down the moves and does it slow to show you how it's done. I would feel comfortable doing Tae Bo in a class..for beginners that is
then you wouldn't be the only one missing some of the moves...

And please learn from my mistake, drink lots of water and don't push yourself too hard or you'll end up as sore as I did...

I will defintely keep that in mind for next time! Thanks!

O-H-I-O!
Tae-Bo is VERY tough and kicks my butt! I love it but don't have the energy. I love Pilates though!
