Our twins are almost a year old now and are doing fine. But Precious still doesn't have a lot of her teeth. She has her lower canine's (I think that's what they are called) and all of the upper and lower front teeth, but as far as the back and side teeth, she has none. Her sister has all of her teeth. It doesn't seem to affect her eating habits in any way. The only thing that I have noticed is that when we first got them she was the fat one, but now her sister is fatter (and Precious is in no way skinny
). Is this something that I should have my vet check out? Anyone else ever experience anything like this?

I have never seen at cat that never developed molars. Usually they erupt by the time they are 7 months old. If she is showing no signs of getting them by the time she is a year, I would have the vet take a look. Something could be going on under the gum line.

Well, I got to looking more closely. I actually opened her mouth and she does have her molars (I wondered how she was chewing hard food with only her front teeth
). Should I be concerned about the front canine teeth though? Thanks.

i never noticed my kitten teething or growing new teeth..weird. I've had him since 5 weeks and he's 7 months now. Is it really obvious? I'm so unobservant sometimes...

My kittens never had any problems with their teeth coming in, but the only thing I noticed was that Trent wanted to use my finger as a teething ring all the time:vampireL:. Other than when the teeth just broke through the skin, I never noticed any teeth missing or growing.

With kittens, they loose thier canines and grow the adult ones. With the molars, the ones they develop through the 7 months and they become adult molars. Although they use thier molars to break the food into bits, if you notice, when they vomit it's usually whole food. Most cats are notorious for swallowing the stuff whole. Which is why most cats with dental disease later in life who have thier teeth pulled still eat dry food. I happen to like my cats with a full set of teeth
but it is possible for them to survive without any.
