When Riley was a little kitten, it was funny to watch him play with Maggie, our dog; Maggie would nudge and Riley would paw back. Maggie would never bite him, and Riley never scratched or hissed, so it was fine.
But now, Riley is older and he has been using his claws. He hasn't injured Maggie yet, but he has lodged his claws just under Maggie's eyes a few times. Yesterday we heard Maggie yelp when she was playing with Riley, but nothing came of it. We are worried he will claw Maggie's eyes or nose, whether accidentally or on purpose. Maggie hasn't gotten rougher with Riley, but I think as Riley gets older he doesn't want to play as much and he realized that with his claws, he can decide when playing time is over!
Anyway, I'm just a little worried about Maggie; should we prevent them from playing? Maggie often starts it so I guess she hasn't minded getting pricked with Riley's claws so far; if she does get hurt, will she learn to stop playing with Riley?
