Glad to meet all you cat lovers. I am a mother of 2 grown children. I have been married for 23 years to the same adorable cat loving husband.

I have 2 rescued cats and a new 6 week kitten that was going to be abandonded.

I have a grey tabby named Dodge. He is 28 pounds now. A big baby. I also have a siamese mix named Bonnie (short for Bonniville) and now a little long haired gray and white kitten named Bentley.

Dodge (male)was found in the local Walmart parking lot on the hottest day of the year, 3 years ago. He was hiding under a Dodge Ram truck. He was only 4 weeks old and so dehydrated. But now with tender loving care, he is a 28 pound big adorable baby.

My Bonnie (female) was left on a neighbors porch. She had a nasty upper respitory infection, a terrible flea infestation, and the worst ear mite infestation the vet had ever seen. She was on deaths door. She is 3 years old now and though she is not very social, she sure loves her Mom and Dad. She is so beautiful.

Our new addition, Bentley (male), was just going to be left outside as the owners had no idea what to do with a new litter of kittens. They did nuture the kittens from birth but just didn't know what to do with them once they were weaned. So I came to the rescue again and plan on spoiling him just like the other 2.

They all get along well. My Dodge is so happy to have a buddy. I don't know if this is usual for a male cat to love a kitten so, but he sure does.

Hope to talk to many of you about our beloved cats.

Just remember to spay and neuter your beloved animals. This will promote good health and also keep the pet population down.

Thanks

Welcome to TCS! What a treat is was to read your successful rescue stories, and to meet Dodge, Bonnie & Bentley - you have chosen such adorable names (that have special significance, too).
Some male cats seen to just love kittens - I recently adopted 2 and JC finds them both entertaining and flattering. I'm glad to see that you are in agreement about the neutering of pets. I did a little traveling back East and was disappointed at some of the archaic attitudes towards neutering, esp. towards neutering male dogs.
Hope to see some pics soon & feel free to PM anytime - I LOVE talking about cats almost as much as visiting them ( I went to the Humane Society, to get "my fix" when traveling). See ya in the forums! Susan

This is my first time at this site, and am so very impresssed. I have 3 adopted cats also. Mada (found at a Ramada Inn in Jackson, MS), Franklin, who was left behind when his owners moved, (a Tuxedo - he is), and now Margo, a kitten of about 2 months, and who is a calico.

I have always been a Dachshund person, having 3 of them as well. ( all rescue as well)

All of my animals are spayed and/or neutered, have regular visits to the vet, and are loved beyond mention.

I have 3 adult daughters that are married and have given me 5 granddaughters. However, I live in Texas, having moved here job related, 2 years ago, and my family lives in Mississippi, Idaho, and Ohio. My pets are my source of satisfaction. I have been divorced for 29 years, so I have filled my life after work with building a family of neighbors and animals.

I truly am an intelligent and sincere woman, but find tremendous pleasure in caring for animals and those who share this passion. I have been active in animal rescue, and although I love doing this, I have to control my desire to provide a home for everyone of them. I believe I have adopted my limit for one household, so I am restraining myself for the time being.

If you have any insight into the Calico breed, please share it with me. I have heard that individuals who have allergies to cats, are somewhat not affected by the Calico. Any information, and conversation is very welcome. I look forward to hearing from you.
