Please - I need prayers & vibes sent to my grandson & a kitten!!This is tragic - my grandson's father accidentally stepped on his kitten Midnite about 15 minutes ago. my daughter just phoned me to alert me to the crisis. My grandson is only 9, and lost his cat Icy only a couple of months ago. I'd gotten another kitten, Snowy, who instantly bonded with my grandson, and I let her go live in San Diego with him. Midnite came into their lives when Snowy was at the vet's getting immunizations; Midnite, only a couple of weeks old, was dumped off at the vets, severely dehydrated & anemic from fleas. Midnite was doing great, responding to all the TLC, till tonight; my grandson & his father are currently enroute to the emergency vets. My daughter said that Midnite could still walk, but his breathing was erratic & he was holding his head very still; she's unsure about the condition of the cat because they didn't want to wait to see if he's okay, they're gonna rush the cat to the hospital & let the vet decide that. They had to wake my grandson up to hold Midnite for the ride to the vet. This is just so awful!!!! Those kittens are so precious to the family, and they have been so careful with them - but being raised around Nature, both of my grandson's parents (like me) prefer PTS to suffering, and my grandson is so emotionally fragile lately. He had been having trouble adjusting to San Diego, esp. school, because he's mostly white in a predominantly Hispanic/African American school population, and is tormented cuz of it; however, when Snowy & Midnite entered the picture, his attitude really changed and he's been feeling much better. Sorry to be so long winded, but I am so distraught for them both. My grandson is one of those sensitive kids - his teacher last year said that he'd never seen such a compassionate boy to even substitute teachers - and he really loves visiting TCS, and he loves my cats & hens as much as I do. He reads at a very advanced level, and really spends alot of time studying about animals, esp. marine mammals & cats. Anxiously waiting for news

Thank you so much, everyone! It is so hard being over 300 miles away when they need me down there. I need to get to bed because I have to go woodgathering for fuel wood all day tomorrow, with an early start; we did 2 runs today, but I feel so frantic (unusual for me) that it's hard to relax and harder to have faith...

Again, thank you all for your prayers. I am also adding prayers for the vet & staff; seeing a child come to them for help with his kitten must make this situation even more sensitive.

WOO-HOO!!!!

Midnite is going to be OKAY!!!
The Xrays showed nothing broken, only brusing. He's going to be given a shot, and some medications for the bruising and for pain management. (my vet has never given me an at-home med for pain, but these high-tech vets have all sorts of new, great inventions that they're familiar with) AT ANY RATE - you TCSers have done it again! Your prayers & vibes really do work!! THANK YOU, THANK YOU! And thank YOU, Sweet Lord. Hugs, Susan
