Today I did a flight to one of most northern destinations called Fort Severn. It is about 500 miles North of here, it's within the polar bear park too! (I didn't see any though)

There is nothing but trees and water as far as the eye can see

Here is the sign (I'm such a geek!
had to take the picture!)

Here is my other baby!, just warming her up with engine plug ins and blankets (brrr up there!)

Now I put another dot on my map for places I've been!

Cool pics! You are a pilot? My stepfather is about to take his test for his license. It's been his life long dream...don't let me show him these pictures...he'll be talking about the plane and everything else for hours with what Mom and I refer to as 'that look' in his eyes!

Yes, I could talk about planes as much as I do kitties...very dangerous to get a group of pilots together!!, we talk shop all night!

Wish your stepfather good luck for me..will this be for his private license?

Yep. He spent 23 years as a jet engine mechanic for the Air Force so planes are deffinatley his life. He currently works for a private company at a smaller airport north of here. He's been slowly working on this for a long time. (His 5 kids come first he says.) He wants to build his own cesna too. We're very proud of him!

Tracy, do you actually own the plane? If so, and you don't mind me asking...how much did that cost? I imagine that must be expensive to maintain. Do you fly professionally, or do you have another job?

No I don't own the airplane (I wish I did)..I fly it for a company here. That's my full time job, we do both cargo and charter. That aircraft is a Cessna 402, it's about 25 years old and I would guess that it would go for $250 000 to buy. Before our company owned it..it flew overseas in Poland I believe and California as well. It is a bit of a $$$ pit as it is getting older and parts are very expensive. We just had a new engine put in for $30 000 (not including labour) and it carries 1200 lbs of fuel (I'm so happy I don't have to pay to fill it up!)

So do the passengers approve your your taking pictures while your are flying (hehe!!)
My dad got his private pilots license way back I think like 1973-1974?? He joined a group of guys in a flying club and they had two planes. Sometimes he would fly us back to college not only 30 miles away so it didn't take too long but my college roomie always got sick!! My sister's college was a couple hours away and they would go for the day to visit.
But more business types joined -wanted certain stuff on the planes-they were never available so about 10 yrs later he sold his interest in the planes. He hasn't flown for at least a decade now but my family always enjoyed our "Sunday afternoon flights"!!
