I've just heard that some old friends, who married back in 1972, and who's daughter is like a sister to my daughter, and was her bridesmaid. Who both were at my daughters weddng in June, as lovey dovey as they're always been. Have split up.

Well the husband has left her, for a mother of 3 children he met on the internet.

It makes me realise that I shouldn't take my hubby for granted. We met in '72 (when I was 17), married in '74 and have grown up together, we're both pretty comfy with each other, with no major problems. But they seemed so close, often holding hands, even after years of marriage, and it makes me just realise how fragile things can be.

I just had to express this as it's all a bit hush hush at the moment.

How awful!! That is so sad!

And you and my parents got married at the same time! It's not easy to stay married 31 years. I know my parents have had their rough times!

Glad that you and hubby are doing well

That is so sad! I recently read an article about reuniting with 'old flames' on the internet. It was about how it can be dangerous to start remembering thoes old feelings...especially if things aren't all rosy at the moment with your current significant other.

Oh, that is just awful! But while you should never take a spouse for granted, you should be able to count on them sticking with you. Discuss this with your hubby, he probably finds it upsetting, too. A strong commitment is definitely needed to stick together through the difficult times!
