Has anyone here ever built a staircase for your cats?
We are wanting to build one going up one wall if our livingroom to the top of the window...put a shelf along the there so the cats can climb up, walk across and drop into the top of the entertainment center....where they LOVE to sleep. (Presently they are climbing a carpet covered 2x4 that is leaning up against the cabnet...but it can`t stay there indefinatly as I can`t open the window with it there.)
If anyone has built stairs for cats....how wide did you make yours, how high is each riser and how deep is each step? Did you use the same dimentions as people-stairs or make them smaller???
Thanks for any info you can provide!

I haven't seen such a thing, but it sounds like something cats will love. I hope you get some ideas how to do it. I know your cats will have fun when they get it.

Arrrggghhh, I can't find the website, but there's a manufacturere that makes "kittywalks" that's basically shelves attached to the wall that sounds pretty much like what you're interested in doing. I'll keep looking, or maybe someone else has it bookmarked and can post a link.

You can make it easier and buy a wooden stepladder- cover the rungs with adhesive carpet and anchor the legs with a piece of wood to brace them- then just set it up
