So, my work gets really frustrating because even though I work with a group of people who are really smart one on one, get them in a group trying to decide something and they suddenly develop the collective intellect of an underripe cantaloupe. (This has lots to do with ineffective leadership, but that's not as fun to say.)

Anyway, we use an internal help desk system to keep track of issues. As a sort of stress reliever, as long as the tickets in question are internal only, I will let loose a little bit. Most people's comments are just stodgy and boring and ... professional. Not mine. Like today, I put on a ticket: "Well, for various reasons testing this ticket was like climbing Mount Everest with a dead rhinoceros strapped to my back, but finally it appears to work."

So what do you do to liven up your workday?

I don`t work (well at least not a job I get paid $ for.....you know, "Homemaker") but my hubby used to work in a factory that built trucks...and they livened the place up by making fools of the new guys by sending them all over the factory to ask other people (who were "IN ON The Joke" for a "sky hook" or an "aluminum stretcher".

I work in the back, away from the eyes of clients, so we sometimes play dance music and sing and dance around all stupid, shaking our booties and trying to do different moves, but mostly looking rediculous. When there aren't any sick patients in there, that is....Sometimes we dance in front of healthy animal's cages like we're putting on an act. They seem to like it! Usually that happens after lunch when we're all energized from eating and get the afternoon "sillies". Nothing makes us laugh more than walking into the back catching someone getting funky to "Baby got Back" or something like that!

we work away from clients as well and our offices are all split up, so whenever I walk by my coworkers (whom i am good friends with) i will either just start doing the running man or dancing until they notice me. If they look up while i'm walking by i stop and do the robot

That sounds EXACTLY like where I work, with my good friends as well. I consider myself lucky to not be in a stuffy office or something! I'd go crazy not being able to express my booty shakin ability! (Or lack thereof, depending who you ask!)

A slightly different angle on this, I work night shifts in a sheltered housing call centre.

When they think we've nothing better to do, they send us things to fold and put into envelopes. Nothing more boring. But if you count how many you can do within a certain time period, then try to beat your own record, it becomes a game.

That's how I liven things up in my job. Sad I know, but, you have to make the best of things.

One friend and I send each other weird voicemail messages. They are private, so no one else hears them, but she has such a wicked sense of humor that it often just makes me laugh out loud.

We all get along pretty well, even my boss who's office is right across the hall from my office. He still has one balloon taped to his wall from his birthday 2 weeks ago.

Loving my beautiful baby girl
I'm a Pediatric Nurse, so must turn even the most routine tasks into a game in order to keep the trust and cooperation of the child. I so much enjoy working with children!

Now, I'm doing the night shift with the child sleeping peacefully. I'm livening up my night right here!
