I adopted a kitten about 4 weeks ago, good health, playful male. He has been very energetic and followed me around the house all day. But for the last week he has become more lethargic, sleeping all day and night in his bed, no interest in playing... at all, and decrease in appetite. The vet said he is healthy. Any ideas what might be wrong, if anything?

For a kitten to change it's personality like that something could be very seriously wrong. It doesn't take long for a very dangerous infection or virus to overrun a kitten's body. I would say take the kitty back to the vet or at least give them a call and explain to them the behavioural changes you have noticed. Best of luck...keep us posted!

I second this response. Please take the poor kitten to a vet! I really hope he'll be ok!

I would go back to the vet and insist on a complete exam or go to a different vet. A kitten should not be acting like that, and since it is something is definetly wrong. It is just a baby and needs treatment for whatever it is suffering from.

Please go to the vet and let us know what happened.

Thank you so much for all your concern! Major is spending the night in the hospital with a 105 fever! I just can't believe his vet didn't pick up on that... well, needless to say, he has found a new doctor and will soon be well. Thank you for all your advice and confirming a mother's intuition! Cheers!
