We were standing around in theatre this morning talking about our pets, and I was saying how I have cats and dogs and just adore them all, especially the cats blah blah.

One of the nurses turned around and said, `If a cat comes into my yard more than twice, I trap it, take it to the Cat Haven, sign the consent saying it's mine, and then have it put down. Costs me ten bucks'.

I was horrified and disgusted, I don't know if she's telling the truth or just saying it to upset me because we don't get along, but I want to know if you think I should contact the Cat Haven and the RSPCA with her name and tell them what she said, in case she actually does do it?

I am so angry and disgusted, I gave her a piece of my mind earlier but I just want to make sure that she can never do this again, if she really does do it in the first place.

I think that is absolutely horrible if that is true. Even if she doesn't do that, it shows what kind of person she is by trying to upset someone on purpose like that. I agree with your thought to contact and make sure you give them a discription of her and what she said to you. That does burn me up that someone could even say that they could do something that cold!

Contact them! If it isn't true then they will just blow it off having never heard of her. If it is true then she needs to be stopped, NOW!

That has to be illegal, especially since from the wording she seems like it wouldn't matter to her if it was someones pet.

Yes I've written a letter to both the Cat Haven and the RSPCA with her name and where she works. I know she'll know it was me and frankly, I couldn't care less. I am so angry and disgusted that I can't concentrate on my work, and she's a horrible person anyway whom I've never got along with, a really lazy nurse and basically, as my boss said, a complete misanthrope. I hope she gets whats coming to her.

Well, the letters are in the post now. I am a little concerned about repercussions from her but hey, I don't have to deal with her that often and anyone who can say something so revolting deserves the consequences. If she can't take the heat, get out of the kitchen!!

You did the right thing. I wouldn't worry about what she thinks because that is animal cruelty. I can't help but think that she could have killed one my beloved pets if she got out of the house and happened across her yard. You won't be able to change her opinion but at least you may have helped stop killing innocent cats.

Hooray for you!!! The woman sounds just sadistic. Were there any witnesses to the comment?

Yes, the anaesthetist was there. And I told my boss straight away. I am still so angry and I hope she gets a call from the RSPCA. Even if it's not true, that should teach her to watch what she says in future.

And if she comes over to the rooms to abuse me I'll just say she's lucky I didn't PHONE the RSPCA and ask them to pay her a visit! She doesn't really have a leg to stand on, I mean, she said it, we all heard it, and she deserves whatever consequences that go with it, even if she was saying it to stir me.

Good! That means she can't just deny she ever said it, or turn around and say you made it up to harass HER.

I think you should tell your boss you reported her. And let him know you are worried she may try to get even. Then if she does anything nasty people will be watching for it.

Good idea - will do. He's very understanding and will probably say I did the right thing, too - seeing as he has two dogs, a cat, a rabbit and a whole lot of fish!!!

I would CERTAINLY contact them! That is a horrible, disgusting and cruel thing to do!!

It's a shame that they probably can't bring her up on charges. Those people have a special place in hell.

that sucks that woman is doing that! but even if shes reported to the rspca, i wouldnt be suprised if she found another way to get rid of the cats, do many people have outdoor cats in the area i take it?? warn the surrounding neighbors. at my apt complex i heard a while back some people actually poisoned food and a stray cat that would chill around here ate it and died, i wasnt here..but we do have a few out side cats and luckily they are still alive, my kit is safe indoors though. living in a college town near a busy street one has to be careful!

Yeah, the only thing I am scared about it that she might find out where I live and bait one of my dogs or find a way to get to one of my cats. If she does that to people's cats I'm sure she'd have no hesitation in doing that to mine out of revenge. And if she did, and even if I knew it was her, there'd still not be a lot that I could do. I'd make her life a living hell, though, and I'm not normally a vengeful person. But that's nothing compared to what Max would do - you should've seen him when I told him what she said, I thought he was going to come to the hospital and have it out with her.

Just read your thread - there is a special place reserved for that person in HELL if she really does what she said.

You did the right thing.
