I am trying to decide what kind of litter to go with as I'm not happy with my current cat litter. Just wondering what kind you use and if you like it.

Here lately i have been using fresh step multi-cat formula but my favorite is tidy cats crystal blend it has the best odor control in my opinion. I also use arm and hammer litter deoderizer to keep it fresh between scoops

I use whatever Sam's Club sells in the plastic buckets, haha.... about 9 bucks (US) for 40 pounds... not the greatest stuff, a little dusty, but clumps well and has a light scent to it.... perfect for the struggling college student kitty owner!

But I hear wood pellets are amazing: dust free, control odors and easy to clean up.... may try them myself at some point

I use crystal litter, I can't remember the exact name but it find it really good, you can buy a huge tub (3 months supply) for $15.00 at Wal-Mart. The litter absorbs the clumps the urine, drys out the pooh and aborbs the smell. I find it really good but I also have two kits for I add some Arm and Hammer Litter Deodurizer to the litter too
. It's also suppose to help with less tracking of the litter, which it does, but you still find some on the floor and if you happen to step on one...ouch!

I use the cheapest stuff my local pet store sells (6.50 for a 40 lb bag). It clumps and it does the job well enough. There is really nothing that will make your litter box not smell. I also use Arm&Hammer baking soda although that really just means you smell baking soda more than kitty stuff. To keep it from getting everywhere, I just have a rim around the litter box and keep a large mat around it so that the litter doesn't stick to his paws.

I get Petsmart's brand scoopable unscented litter in 40 lb boxes. I've tried others, but haven't found anything that's so much better to be worth the premium prices.

Bren, you can find it at Petsmart. It's called Feline Pine. Petsmart also makes a generic one under their brand name exquisicat. My local wal-mart sells feline pine, but I'm not sure if all wal-marts sell it. It's not expensive at all. I really liked the pine pellets but Prego and Polly didn't.

We also tried Feline Pine scoopable. It's like sawdust and it seems to end up all over the furniture, so now we use World's Best.

I was using Arm and Hammer Easy Flush. It works well, but the clay dust bothers my allergies, so I'm trying to get away from clay litter.

My cat box is next to the throne in the bathroom, So to prevent the daily trip to the dumpster, I use Arm & Hammer Flushable, it's so easy to scoop and use, it's about 8 bucks (have seen it at 11 bucks) for an 18 lb box, expensive I know, but I don't have to deal with the smell of the catbox, and not emptying litter daily in trash can. My guys like it, and I also use Glade fresh scent to keep the amonia smell out of the box which protects they're lungs. I do a full box change twice a month, but, let it run down before each change. Oh yea, it flushes real easy, even with my low impact toilet, sometimes have to flush twice, but usually have to do that anyway. just don't load it up too much with lumpy litter. usually takes me 2 flushes (4) per day in the toity.

Right now, i use Arm and Hammer Multi Cat ( I only have 1 cat, but it works better for odors) I also add the arm and hammer deodorizer between scoops. I did try the crystals and the Petco cat litter brand, but then my room stunk, even if I scooped after every use. I have to keep the litter in my bathroom by the bedroom since I have a 2 year old that would like to go sand digging in it if I keep it anywhere else. So I have to use a litter that works well. I don't think any litter kills odors completely. The best defence is to scoop alot.

Miss Kitty *LOVES* Feline Pine. I do too -

1) It's cheap. About $3/bag, and one bag lasts me about three weeks with proper cleaning of the solid waste.

2) No "scooping", just removing of the kitty pooh (the urine soaks into the pellets, turning them into unscented sawdust).

3) It's made from a natural, renewable resource and isn't pumped full of chemicals

They tell you to use 1/2 a bag, but I use a full one each time as I have a sufficently deep litter box. I really have no complaints - the only issue I have is that not every store carries it, so when I go to a store that does I often stock up. Some kitties don't like it, and need to get used to it; Feline Pine recommends that you mix it with your current litter at first to let your cat become accustomed to it, but I found that to be one big mess. After the first day or two of mixing I just gave up and went with a full load of FP - and never looked back!

I use Scoop Away in unscented. I get it at petsmart in the 38lb tubs. Its fairly inexpensive and it doesn't smell at all. I hate the way some litter companies add smells to their litter, like a "fresh" scent. It just smells like you are trying to cover up the smell of cat litter. I also use arm and hammer dedorizer when I change her litter. I would like to switch to the natural stuff, but she is happy now so I really don't want to mess with her!

We use Arm & Hammer Multi-cat and Tidy Cat Small Spaces. I like them both. I tend to buy whatever is available or cheaper between the two brands.

I use Worlds Best Cat Litter, we recently tried using clay again to try and cut back on bills and realised it stinks and is too dusty compared to the WBCL so went back to using WBCL. I love that it is so light and natural, and that if it does track it doesn't hurt my feet!

We use Cat Country, I was using Yesterday's News but one time they were out of the unscented for Sash so I went with Cat Country which is very similar. It's made of wheatgrass pellets and all organic. It's a better price than Yesterday's News and lasts me a few weeks longer. We completely change the litter about every 11-12 days.
