The lady in our neighborhood who feeds the couple of ferals who hang around may possibly be moving in 6 months or so. She asked me if I could take over the food and watering. (She has TNRd them already.) She lives behind the person who lives across the street from us. Do you think that if I put food out, the cats will find it? I don't know how we could "gradually" move them over to our place.

One thing is - I have seen them in our front yard, and in the neighbor's back yard, so they do travel over here. (They can't get into our back yard because we have a barrier cat fence.)

Any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks! Kim.

Kim...could she manage to move their food and watering closer to your house a little bit each month. You will definately want them to be feeding in your yard before she moves.

Here is an article on long term care of feral cats:

I`d think if she would do this (esp if she had a way to protect the food from rain etc...as in using a moving type of shelter over the top of the food, but not trapping the kitties in....) that they would move with the food and eventually when she leaves they`d be coming to your place to be fed. Once they know it`s there....they will come to where there is something to eat.

Hmmm...I don't think we could do this without utilizing other peoples' yards. People who generally don't like cats anyway...
