So, Bella has a 'thing' for the carbon filters on the litterbox in the bathroom. The filters were held in by plastic fingers, alternating over/under, but she actually managed to pull both filters out. I thought that she was content with just licking them, but apparently she really wanted to chew on them.

The first time she pulled out the filters (both of them, actually, because apparently one isn't enough), I found them when I woke that morning, and put them back in. She had them back out by the time I was home from work, though. I don't know how she has the patience to get them out, because they're in there really tight, and are actually pretty tough to get in there, but I guess she just *really* likes them.

She chewed up the filters enough that I had to throw them out, so that box currently doesn't have a filter. I haven't really noticed a difference, smell-wise, so it doesn't bother me. Is Bella the only cat in the world who likes to chew on charcoal filters? Do the filters actually do anything? Is there some way to keep the filters from being chewed on/pulled out?

I don't think those filters really do much, anyway. I don't see any problem with just leaving it out.
