I've got the litter box blues...

Seriously anyone have any suggestions on how to help with litter box odor?
I have 2 cats and soon to have a 3rd. I change the litter every Sunday but usually by day 2 I can smell it.....
I use a litter box that looks like a dog house its a cover roof...
I use a small bag litter in there....
I've used fresh step, (yelllow bag stuff) Armond Hammer stuff....
and even tried the fresh step crystals...

Some days are worse than others but I don't want ANY smell... I'd really hate to have to start changing the litter every other day cause that would be very expensive...
Is there any other trick I can use to help with it.

Thanks.

Hey there.
I have two kitties and use to have the same problem (when I only had one...go figure
). So I started to scoop daily and then sprinkle in Arm and Hammer Litter Deodurizer (sp?) to mix around with the litter, the powder helps absorbs the smell and moisture. I've found it made a big difference with the smell.
I still totally change the litter and scrub out their litter boxes every 3-4 weeks depending. Oh and it helps to have a litter box per cat too

I have 3 litter boxes and 4 cats I usually dump the complete box every other day. Soak it in a little bleach and water.. And put in all new litter.. Thats the only way I can be smell free....

I have 1 large litter box for 2 cats, use cheap Tidy Cat clay litter (with oder control)in it...scoop 2-3 times a day and change the litter about every 5 days and have very little oder unless someone has "just gone" and not covered well.
I`ve noticed even less oder at all since switching to Purina One cat food too....so that may be part of it.

You know I didn't EVEN think about the food..... I did just switch their food so perhaps its the food too... The litter box isn't always bad but I have noticed lately that I've been noticing it more so I will look into the food deal!!!

THANKS 2 EVERYONE FOR THE SUGGESTIONS AND ADVICE!!!!!!!!!!!

I use fresh steps multi-cat formula and change the litter and box weekly.I also use the arm& hammer litter deoderizer EVERY time I scoop. I sprinkle some over the top before I scoop to make sure that it gets spread around well.
