I have a couple of books waiting for me in my bedside table. I should read for pleasure more than I do, but since I have to read so much for Grad School, a lot of times I just want to zone out!
I'm gonna grab one of those books and bring it with me on the train today!

As the daughter of a media specialist (AKA Librarian), I think my mother would disown me if I didn't enjoy reading
. Fortunately, I have "The Babysitters Club" to thank for turning me on to reading.
Unfortunately, now that I'm in grad school, all I read lately is "Introduction to Public Administration." Snoreville.

I see your "Public Administration", and I RAISE you one "Introduction to Corporate Finance".

Snoreville PLUS math, therefore I WIN!

The only books I never finished were the "Lord of the Rings" trilogy. I read so much, and buy so many books, that my husband starts throwing them out when I reach about 1,000. We just got rid of about 600 paperbacks; some were thrown away, but most I gave to students. The whole third floor was full of books, and he wanted to reinsulate up there and paint, so they had to go. I commute by train, which gives me reading time, and I always have a book with me when I take Jamie for an afternoon walk. I even read when standing in lines.

As a full-time editor, wife, and mom to the fur-kids, and as a part-time grad student and office cleaning person, I rarely have time to read for pleasure. However, when I do start a new book, I tend to finish it. If I know I don't have time to devote to a new read, I'll re-read the HP series.

I think somedays I wake up with a book in my hand. As I type this I have a book open-"A Million Little Pieces" one of Oprah's book recommondations and read a few lines as my screen page loads (DSL!!)
But for those book readers on NPR on Monday times.com was 100 best books published since 1923 the yr Time magazine was started. I have saved this list and will use it tomorrow when I attend AAUW's annual book sale. The 1st two days books are only $1 the next day they drop to 50 cents and the last day its a paper grocery bag full for
$1!!! I really stock up-then I can donate some back for the next yrs sale!!

I like to read a chapter or two before bed. I don't have a book right now and am going nuts.

I'm another one with the problem of way too many books to read. I buy them and then can't choose what to read.
There are a few books that I just jump right into though (Harry Potter leading the pack) but right now on my bookshelves there are probably close to fifty or sixty books that I haven't read yet. No more buying books until I get these read is what I've been telling myself.

Of course what is my Christmas list comprised of? Books.

When I lived at home, I had millions of books. I would read a full Danielle Steel book in one night, I love her books!

I haven't read for my own pleasure in so long, and I really should start again. I usually have more time in the winter, I could sit down with a good Danielle Steel book and a cup of hot chocolate (can't forget about Harley batting at the pages) anytime!

HA!

Sorry, Olly extra...if it has Medeival in the title, then it's even more boring than math.

Ian and I are both tremendous book hoarders. I have 3 bookcases full (plus a file cabinet of sheet music and about 400 CDs) and he has 4...we're going to have to get an extra bedroom when we move in together just to be the media room!

I also did not finish Lord of the Rings. Or as I call it, the "Walk-walk-walk/fight-fight-fight and repeat for 3000 pages" trilogy
