The cats house, we just pay the mortgage..
We have a plastic bowl but its a double one (I guess so you can put kitty milk in the other side) but recently he's started getting his claws underneath it and flipping it up, spilling his water all over the floor and his food!
So I think we are going to get a thick ceramic bowl so he can't do this!

We have a heavy deep, double plastic bowl for food and water. My Felix always has to paw his water. He is the only one who does this, I think it is a Pussy Cat thing and he need to reassure himself that there is water in the bowl. He will pull the bowl across the floor but hasn't been able to turn it over.

Regardless of what we use, my cats find a way to knock it over. I think they only find water interesting if it's spilled all over the floor. :p That being said, we currently have two ceramic bowls (one in the kitchen, one in the bathroom) and a plastic Tupperware dish (in the living room) that we use; we change our bowls and their locations around, to keep things interesting for our guys. I've been considering adding a kitty fountain to the mix, but I'm not entirely sure where we would put it; while our apartment isn't small, we have an awful lot of stuff for two humans and two cats!

It doesn't matter what kind of bowl I put the cat's water in.

He won't drink it.

He goes to the dog's big plastic tub of water and drinks from that. *Rolls eyes*

Thanks for all the input guys, he loves the fountain but lately he finds it interesting to play with, if he continues to do that i'll get him a bowl instead.

I'd keep an eye on how much he drinks if you change the fountain he loves. He may refuse to drink and that could be unhealthy for him.

I have a double plastic set-up that I got at walmarts for about $4.
In the center you put a water filled 20oz pop bottle, upside down, and when you flip the bowl(s) upright , then the water feeds into one side of the dish as the cats drink it. The other side has a liner bowl that sits inside it that can be taken out and filled with food without messing up the water flow on the other side.
I first fill the pop bottole 1/2 way and freeze it.....then fill it the rest of the way with water just before attaching it.
the cats love the ice water...and it stays cold for quite awhile.

I'm pretty sure I read somewhere on here about plastic bowls not being good for cats??
I could be wrong - I use ceramic ones - But I also have a water fountain which he loves!
