I was just offered a free male cat today from my Vet. He is solid white with two different colored eyes. His tail is curled in a big loop
Does anyone know if this cat would be an American Curl or not? I am not sure if I want him but he is very affectionate cat and loves people
I already have 2 Ragdolls (petigreed) and one domestic shorthair rescued male.

No, an American Curl has nothing to do with the tail....
An American Curl has ears that are curled back. The thing is... do you want him? if you do then bring him home with you, I'm sure he'll get all the love he needs..

An American Curl only has the ears curled back - not the tail. I don't think its any special breed other then an odd-eye white with tail deformity (due to birth or injury).

If you want the cat and can provide a loving home, take him - not because he has a curled tail.

Hi, the cat sounds lovely - especially with the odd eyes (as it is called). He is not an American Curl though - the distinctive feature of that native american breed is firm ear cartilage at the base and ear tips that curl back over the top of the head. Very petal like and graceful.
One site to see photos of a couple of rescue Curls is here:click here

I thought American Curls had curled ears, not tails

Thanks for the replies
What kinda cat could he be
He is about 12 pounds and has a tail that curls up like a pigs tail
His tail is about 10-12 inches long. I have never seen anything like it in my life

Just a tail deformity for some reason. If his tail was shorter - like 3-4 inches it could indicate Japanese Bobtail - but its just a mixed breed cat.
