So there may be some peace in my house. Riley had his first vet visit (went fine ;-)), and when we got home....I let him out of his carrier. He ran right upstairs to where Morgan was waiting....and.......no hissing..... I made lunch, read, watched TV....and......no hissing. I went upstairs....Riley's on the bed, Morgan is under. No hissing. No growling. No friendliness, but hey, no hissing. I go back downstair. A few mintues later....hissing! It was as if Morgan just remembered she was supposed to hate the kitten! hahaha

Riley smells like the vet clinic and Morgan is put off by the different scent. You can dust each cat down with brewer's yeast or use vanilla extract under their chins, between their shoulders and at the base of their tails to help them get over this period of time.

Yeah, it'll take time for your older cat to adjust to your new kittie. But they'll get their in the end.

Sounds like progress! Hopefully the peaceful intervals will start to become longer and longer.
