Not sure what you are saying.....do you use something intended for burning in wood stoves as litter...and now you are using litter again since you can`t get this other???
If so....exactly what is it...and why do you like it better?

Yes I use wood stove pellets for my cat litter. Its just like feline pine. in fact i think its where feline pine took their idea. but its without the high price tag. a 40lb bag of it costs 4.29 and with a house full of 14 we need to save where we can. And litter is an area where we can

Yes Steve has been in charge of the kitty boxes this month I have been doing the dog clean up (we trade every so often) and he failed to mention we needed litter before we really NEEDED litter. Fleet farm was sold out of pellets, something that does not usually happen but we have had a cold snap and people probably stocked up.

So I had to buy some regular litter. I got scoop away. It was on sale. and its SO DUSTY and SO SMELLY..yucko

I miss my wood stove pellets lol

they dont have dust, they dont track they cover the smell nicely with out perfume. thats why i like them
cost is nice too.
And the kitties love them.

I have two tons of pellet in my garage and ya know, I never thought about using it as kitty litter until they started getting into the holding container. Needless to say it's empty now. How effective are the pellets and how do you maintain youre litter boxes with pellets in them?

Do you know where I would beable to find that in Canada? (montreal) It sounds much better then the litter I have been using.

For the dust problem though if it's just for a short time until you can get those wood pellets again. I use to use these plastic pellets they are great though. No smell and NO DUST

I can't remember what they are called but I know you can find them just about anywhere you get kitty litter. I use to get it rom the grocery store. It's a bit more expensive but you never really ahve to empy it. (not for awhile anyway) Some brands even have color indicaters for when it is time to change the box. I know that there are generic brands out there and I think that it may cost a doller or two more than the clay stuff.

Hope I could help

I also use Arm&HAmmer --sometimes fragrance free and sometimes fragrance -- my kitties dont care either way. And not very dusty at all.. And keeps smell to a minimum. I am very smell sensitive and clean my boxes 1-2times per day and A&H does a good job in between cleanings.

I do just like I would with my normal box. we clean out the poo and scoop the saturated wet spots. which the pellets break down and you can tell when they are saturated for sure. they are very effective. i have 14 cats and no one belives me when they step into my home.
