not a real good day I had to call Dot at the grooming kennel to explain about my foot i can't get my shoe on its swollen the Doctor called said to keep ice on it and elavated But i told Dot i was comming in tommorow morning to walk the dogs and give zeus a bath cause i just fill to guilty about calling in to work because i just started there I don't want to lose my job

I should of been honest with Dot when she hired me and told her i had surgery last month and i wouldnt be able to work untill the Doctor gave me the ok to return to work. But i wanted this job so bad Now im a reck over this i dont know how im going to walk the dogs in the morning i can barley walk as is! I think what cause this set back is when i fell on that ramp ron built for jake and that happen thursday nite and i was limping on it friday

What would you do if you were in my situation?

Thank you for listing

If you walk on it you will only make it worse, and therefore it will take you longer to get back to work.

If you think your boss will be ok, then I would be honest with her and tell her the situation.

If I were you I`d just be upright and honest and tell her the truth....that you wanted this job so bad that you hid the truth about your foot surgery from her.....but REALLY you do need to stay off it until your doctor gives you permission to be doing things like walking dogs etc.....or you might end up needing to have surgery again or have problems with your foot possibly for the rest of your life.
I hope that you will take care of yourself....and I also hope that your boss will hold your job for you.

Rhonda you should always be honest especially about this. You could do great damage to your foot if you step wrong, or a dog falls on it or you fall. Your boss would more than likely feel terrible if she thought that her tasks to you caused you injury first time. Be honest with her and just tell her face to face what you did and why.

Honestly is the best policy, here. I'm sure your boss will understand, and if you tell her the complete truth I think she will appreciate it and be more willing to help you out.

You don't want to make it worse and end up losing your job because it is going to take longer to heal.

I hope everything works out alright for you. Take care of your foot. You can always find another job if you have to. Your foot is more important. I hope your boss will work with you.

Under the cats, mostly.
I think the honesty is the very best policy now. She sounds like a really nice lady and seeing as you've wanted this job so badly - and were prepared to make the effort to come in anyway - I'm sure she'll see that too. She sounds like she'll be really understanding about it. Hopefully you won't be in a position where you have to find another job, but if you do, you'll have to remember your health has to come first! Get well soon!

No job is worth you health.......you know that silly girl......

I hope your foot gets better soon, and I know your boss will understand......And if she doesnt for some odd reason..then she isnt the kinda boss you want to work for........

Good Luck Hun...I know it will be fine

Yes, be honest. Your boss does sound like a caring, understanding person. You need to take care of yourself and not cause further injury. I hope this works out for you.

Refresh my memory about your surgery???? Did the doc give you one of those icky wooden lce up boot/shoe things to wear???
When I had my foot surgery my doc made me bring in an older but still good athletic shoe in which he cut off the toe section and it still laced up ok-they cushioning was there are opposed to the alternative wooden thingy!!
Could you buy a larger athletic shoe and perform this cutting of the shoe and be able to get around after a day or two???
But if you agravated it-you should RICE the foot!!! These things do not heal quickly!!
