Joshua has started to do something really strange...

Whenever I come home, or when he feels like saying hi, he will lie his head on the floor, either sideways or almost upside down, with the rest of his body still standing normally.
He's rubbing the side of his head on the floor with his butt sticking up.

Other times he will lie down and still rub the side of his head on the floor.

I'm not sure if my description is really clear... but does that sound like a normal cat greeting? Or does it have another meaning?

I've never seen a cat do that before.

Well, it's a marking behavior ... a little unusual to mark the floor with his face, but, well, sometimes you just can't explain what a cat does!!

I find that sometimes my kitties are so overwhelmed to see me that they'll act VERY strangely to show their affection.

Sashka always waits in the window for me to get home, and when she sees the car she starts meowing and head-butting the window. It looks like she does it REALLY hard and I'm always trying to stop her, but the best thing is to just get in the house quickly so she jumps down and can come and greet me.

Sunday just get beside herself with loving sometimes and will rub her face along the floor - it's like, `Must ... mark ... something ... overwhelmed ... must ... show ... love...' and there's nothing around but the floor, so that'll have to do!!!

Tiger used to do about the same thing to the walls. She was known for walking straight into them and slowly turning to rub her whole side on the wall. We used to say that's why she had such a box shaped head! She was one cool kitty though, even if she was odd sometimes!
