We just got the booda dome where the cats go up the stairs and go to the right to go to the potty. I just spent 28 bucks on the thing, and now I'm scared they won't use it. We just got one more cat, so i wanted to add one box. A little hx- I started with 2 reg cat boxes when I lived at my apt and changed them over to the covered Tidy Cat boxes. They have no problem using those. When we moved, I added an uncovered box to the upstairs bathroom. The two tidy cat boxes are next to eachother in the first floor pantry - very private. They seem to like to use these the most- one for poos and one for pees usually. I was thinking about putting the dome in the finished basement- 1st leaving it around w/ no litter in it, then adding litter for awhile, and then adding the top. Does this sound like a good idea or am I over analyzing and planning?

I just bought the clean step dome...I filled it up, put on the top, put it where their old litterbox was and voila....the cats love the thing! It looks a little like a spaceship, sure, but they accepted it immediately.

Just make sure you carry them over there and set them gently and reassuringly inside the doorway of the tunnel. Mine sort of sniffed around, left and they both have since been using it to do their business.

Can I ask where you got yours? I've seen in one place here in my town, and I was thinking it was closer to $40. I would love to find it somewhere for a little cheaper, I've been wanting to get one so much!

Mine was $29.99 at Petsmart. I bet you could find it cheaper online...try searching amazon.com and ebay and the various pet supply stores and I'm sure you could find it for less.

Unfortunately I can't really help! My husband and I were up in Spencer Mass (where I used to live) last night attending a halloween party and we stopped at this place this morning called Klem's which is basically almost a a general store. They have all the brands of decent cat food at reasonable prices and supplies. I stopped there to pick up Nutro canned kitten food for Suzie. I'd rather give them my money than petsmart. I think they also have supplies for farm animals. They also have toys, clothes (crappy selection), shoes, hardware, garden supplies, gourmet food and nice housewares. We bought the dome, filters for it, 48 3 oz cans of Nutro, 24 6 oz cans, a xmass stocking for the cats, a new flag bolt thingy and a xmass ornament and spent 104 dollars. Ouch. Pretty expensive for a impluse trip, but now I have a 3 month supply of canned.

My cats love it- if you have a small dog though they can get into the entrance of the dome and go after the cat waste so be careful.

I hadn't thought about checking ebay, great idea! My bf has one, and loves it! Up here at my apartment its only me and Marlee, no doggies to worry about. But I do have a dog Maggie that will live with us once I am out of school and have a house (right now my apartment allows only cats, no dogs, so Maggie is with my parents). Anyways, thanks for the tip, I'll definately be checking online!

My kitties have both only used the Booda Dome and love it. BUT a tip -- Bella hated the swinging door -- would go on the rug rather than go in there with the door. So I took it off and its just an open hole now and both her and Trix use the dome regularly. They like the hood for privacy and havent had a problem since.

oh and no worries -- they have separate boxes -- it seemed like I was saying they share -- and they DONT. Hahaa!
