My cat was exposed to a kitten who had a bald head. I was told it was probably due previously to fleas? The kitten was currently on advantage. He had come straight from a shelter. A few weeks later, my cats ears turned all red and scaly around the edges. I treated him with ear mite drops. Now he has a bald patch on his head, neck and I just noticed his tail. I thought maybe he was just scratching at his ears, but tail is strange. He's had fleas before, and never had that reaction, so I don't know if it could be fleas (I don't see any). His spots are grey, one looked red the other day, but now are just grey. I don't know of a vet open tomorrow either. What could be wrong?

Ringworm is the 1st thing that springs to mind..although ringworm is zoonotic, which means it is transmissible to humans. Have you noticed any scaly, itchy patches on your own skin? Ringworm is a pain but totally treatable. Get your baby to a vet as soon as possible for a diagnosis, though, as ringworm is only one of many possiblities.

Yes, I had ringworm
Probably from a foster cat. I don't know if that causes a bald head though like the one that he was exposted to? I try to wash my hands in between (I keep my cat away), but must not work.
