Humble's appetite is not good. The vet says to stop giving the antibiotics for a day and see if that helps. I am also so stop with the Metacam.

??? Has anyone else had this problem?

No, but I am going to do it now. I just read that Clavamox can cause loss of appetite.

Just like in humans, antibiotics can cause upset tummy, and therefore not eating.

Thank you! I appreciate it. Am I being paranoid? I weighed him, and he is the same as before the surgery.
Ought I just to chill, stop the clavamox, and take him in on Saturday morning for a checkup? He is supposed to go in after 10 days anyhow.

I'd definitely take him in on Saturday for a checkup if he is still not eating very well. Have you tried feeding him from your finger? Do whatever it takes to get him to eat - heat it up a bit to make it more smelly, try the baby food (without onions or garlic) - anything to get something in his tummy.

Hugs and healing thoughts going out to you all.

I am definietely taking humble in on saturday for a checkup.

I think he will do better off of the metacam and clavamox.

Maybe just take him off the clavamox? Metacam should be making him feel GOOD. That's serious kitty pain killers there.

He hates both of them and is running from me. I am taking half a day off school to see about him. Dr. Branch told me to take him off Metacam.

Sorry I must have mis-read the first post. Obviously, go with what your vet says! I'm sorry he feels so poorly, I love my little virtual snuggle buddy!

I do find it a little surprising that he's not reacting well to the Metacam - mine think of it as their special happy drug. Bobby has gone from emergency trip to the vet at midnight to delirious kitty crazies in one hour.

The rest of them react well, though not quite like junkies on it.

Kiss my little buddies for me.

Finally!!! Got meowmy up and going and to turn on the computer for me! She says she has a sinus headache.

Hey, Howler and all! I'm heading to the booth in the sunny corner. Wanna share a big order of mouse tails with cheese dipping sauce?

I am taking Humble to the vet at 1:30 this afternoon. I took half a day off from school. I am just scared.
