Funny this, its one of the questions we ask at interviews at work - 'who would you most like to have lunch with and why' - its usually the one that stumps them!

Chomsky to discuss the problems of intellectual society
Margaret Thatcher - there are so many questions I want to ask her
Dalai Lama
Definitely Johnny Depp for eye candy
The chef Jamie Oliver for some light relief and to cook so I can enjoy the eye candy and conversation

George Clooney (he's hot)
Spider-Man (he's cool)
Mother Theresa (I very much admire her)
George W. Bush (has some explaining to do, IMO)

I must be getting OLD! I can`t think of a single famous person I`d like to have over for dinner. I`d much rather just have 5 of my closest friends.

Well yes, this is a neat answer. And maybe I would have them after elicon.
I was really thinking: Benny Hinn, Billy Graham, Kenneth Copeland,Jesse Duplantis and Jimmy Swaggert. They could all preach a while and then I would ask Jimmy to sing and play.

Kewl Question tho can I answer it in two parts - one as a fictional group and the other live people. (Or can they be dead, rofl! - if the dead were included, I;d love to have dinner with Albert Einstein).

But I'll be good and include only people who are currently breathing.

Live People

Bill and Hillary Clinton (I met both of them on 2 different occasions, she when she was awarded an Honourary degree from a univ whose Board I was on and he when he came to NB to golf at a fundraising event.)
Andrew Greeley - sociologist and fiction writer
Tim Berners-Lee - invester f hypertext which evolved into HTML and its versions.
Nelson Mandella
Joan Baez

Fictional - I have to think about this one for a bit

Jesus (again, obvious - my Lord and Savior)
C.S. Lewis (author of the Narnia books and more)
Elisabeth Elliot (author of Passion and Purity and more)
Daniel (from the lion's den - I would ask him about his visions and experiences requiring the utmost faith!)
Keith Green (prolific Xian songwriter/singer, died in a plane crash in, I think '83?)

Wow, great thread!!
