...over for dinner, who would you have?

I mean well-known or famous people here, politicians, authors, actors, sporting figures etc...

Someone asked me this the other day and I still haven't been able to think of a final five. But here goes so far...

Indira Ghandi
Goran Ivanisevic
J R R Tolkein
Meryl Streep
Jim Carrey

But it changes all the time!! I think Conan O'Brien would be a pretty cool dinner-guest, too!

Ah hahaha fictional - what a great addition!!

If I could have fictional as well I would SO have Gandalf (don't think Aragorn would have much to say...lol)

I'd also have Anne of Green Gables, and Wonder Woman!!

HA!! I was going to put Spiderman - he's way cool, and he could play funny practical jokes on you. `Hey Spidey, pass me the salt?' - and he'd just whip it over to you with his wrist-spiderweb-weaving action...lol...

I was also going to say Johnny Depp, only I'd just gaze open-mouthed at him all night and would probably burn the potatoes...

And would we get him to open some double doors looking tired, worn, completely luscious, manly and heroic on his way in?????

Oooooooo yes please!! You know he's actually pretty scrummy in real life too (but I do prefer the whole rugged "I've been through the wars but I'm still alive" look. Very him)

It's just a pity he had such a nasally voice - I always pictured Aragorn to be well, kind of gruff and deep.

Not that it matters, he's still a babe.

My SIL said the funniest thing in the theatre - it was the first time I've ever heard everyone laugh at someone talking in the movies, not turning around and shushing...

In `The Fellowship Of The Ring', you know where they're at the Council at Rivendell and they're all volunteering to go to Mordor, and the conversation goes something like this,

Legolas;`You have my bow...'
Gimli;`And my axe!'
Aragorn; `And my sword...'

Well, my sister in law said, pretty loudly, `You can give ME your sword!!' - everyone cracked up - she just voiced what everyone was thinking and it was very funny...lol

muahahahahahahaha!!!! Alex always loved the Lord of the Rings trilogy too funnily enough. Not bad for a four year old (at the time) he would actually request watching the whole movie AND sit through it too!!

My granny was sooooo funny in the theatre for the first one! She went all silly when Legolas walked on set
and announced quite loudly (she's deaf as a post) that she didn't care if he had pointy ears, she'd do him anyway!!

Jim Carey? That would be tough. He'd be making you spit out your food from laughing so hard. No one would be able to eat!

Jim Carey! Wow.... yeah that would be interesting... but apparently he's actually really shy in life. What you see on screen is a complete opposite to his normal day to day life...

Unfashionable end of the western spiral arm of the
I think I'd get a pretty good government conspiracy going too...

I'd invite
- The Dalai Llama
- Howard Zinn
- Noam Chomsky
- Edward Norton
- Johnny Depp

The first three would be so interesting to talk to

And the last two... well... I AM single

(ok, and they would also be interesting to talk to)
